Chunibyo episode one is about a guy who has an embarrassing past, trying to be normal yet being prevented by a girl who is still into all the crazy stuff that he was into. He calls this idea of childish grandiose chunibyo and it sounds terrible.
It felt quite generic but it was still entertaining. This episode introduced the two main characters and made them become friends who just happened to live very close to each other. The boy helps her move in and the girl tells him to keep all of the possessions he’s embarrassed about owning.
If it hadn’t ended in a touching and cool moment I probably wouldn’t have continued with the series. It looks like the kind of show that will get worse as it progresses but right now I’m finding it enjoyable enough to continue watching.
