A game where you travel to an odd remote village in the middle of nowhere in order to solve an inheritance dispute probably sounds like the most boring game imaginable, but the truth is anything but. Professor Layton and the curious village is a charming short game about a British gentleman named Hershel Layton who … Continue reading Professor Layton and the Curious Village Review

Super Mario Galaxy: A Game of Two Halves
I was one of the many people who never really got to play Mario Galaxy before, and now with the new Super Mario 3D All Stars collection I have my chance! I will be reviewing the games individually, only reviewing after playing one fully to completion. As this takes time, I have only completed Mario … Continue reading Super Mario Galaxy: A Game of Two Halves
Duolingo+ Review – Spanish
The last time I reviewed the normal version of Duolingo based on the Chinese version, now I will review Duolingo+ based on the Spanish version and talk a little bit about the Spanish course itself! So what does Duolingo+ offer? Well a couple of things. The first one that surprised me quite a lot, was … Continue reading Duolingo+ Review – Spanish
Book of Mormon Review – Nephi 1
I am not a member of the church of jesus christ latter-day saints and am just a non-believer who took it upon himself to read it and pray about it as I did so. I read this book over the course of one week, and made notes on what I thought as I went. This … Continue reading Book of Mormon Review – Nephi 1

HelloTalk Review – Find Language Partners Easily!
I had heard of this for a while but never really considered using it until recently. I thought that there was no harm in checking it out so I did! What I found was surprisingly great. HelloTalk is a way to find language partners without meeting them in person, it's genuinely as simple as saying … Continue reading HelloTalk Review – Find Language Partners Easily!
Thoughts On The Book I Wrote – Major Spoilers
If you've not yet seen my book you can find it here on this blog free to read. Let's look at the positives, which will take much less explaining than the negative. Obviously the fact that I finished it was a great start, most people don't finish their books, and though it's not published, I'm … Continue reading Thoughts On The Book I Wrote – Major Spoilers

Detective Pikachu – Simply A Good Time
I saw detective Pikachu today and it was pretty great! Pokemon is a series that I've grown up with for such a long time and it might just be one of my favourite game series' - until before the 3D model change, which was still ok, just not as good. So honestly a lot of … Continue reading Detective Pikachu – Simply A Good Time
Vampire Knight First Impressions
I recently realised how rare it was for me to watch anime that is different from what I'm used too. Vampire knight is a Shoujo romance story and comes with the art style associated. Then the character designs, and the way they're posed together gives the impression that it's going to be nothing but fujoshi … Continue reading Vampire Knight First Impressions
This is Not Tonegawa
There is an anime by the name of Tonegawa Middle Management Blues (TMMB) which is a spin off to Kaiji about Tonegawa, who has been a massive villain in the series and been the one in charge of most of the conflicts that Kaiji gets himself in. And though Tonegawa is drawn with the same … Continue reading This is Not Tonegawa
Liar Game: Reborn Review – Musical Chairs!
The perspective I'm reviewing this from is someone that has read the manga, found that the musical chairs arc was their favourite, and jumped ahead past halfway through season 2 just to watch this. This meant that I knew a lot of the twists and turns already. At the start of musical chairs everyone is … Continue reading Liar Game: Reborn Review – Musical Chairs!
Liar Game Korean Version – Thoughts on Episode 1
Read the manga, then read this. Yes we're starting down this route again! For those who where wondering what happened to the last series, where I reviewed the Japanese adaption of liar game, I literally just got bored and stopped watching. Here's hoping that this doesn't happen here! Unlike the Japanese liar game the Korean … Continue reading Liar Game Korean Version – Thoughts on Episode 1
I Took The Train to Busan And I’m Never Coming Back!
Just now I created an account on "my drama list" and added all of the live action drama's that I've seen and WHAT!? I've seen 24.02 days of live action drama's!? Oh wait 24.02 hours. Yesterday I posted a Twitter poll asking if people would be interested if I started talking about live action drama's … Continue reading I Took The Train to Busan And I’m Never Coming Back!
Planetes is The Anime of The Future
There is an anime that sums up what I want the near future to be like, and it's called Planetes. The five word summary of this show would be "slice of life in space" and that's a really great thing. I really like the idea of going into space and colonising absolutely every planet out … Continue reading Planetes is The Anime of The Future
What I Watched In January (Recommendations and Reviews of Anime and Manga)
Sorry for not keeping up with blogging lately much like I've not been blogging I've not been watching a lot of anime either! So this list might be short but hopefully you'll find something you like! Yeah it's pretty good, and a very relaxing experience to … Continue reading What I Watched In January (Recommendations and Reviews of Anime and Manga)
Castlevania ep 3 – I think I’ve Made Up My Mind
The creators of netflix's castlevania anime have been talking about doing an adaptation of Berserk to make it 2D and adapt everything. I've been watching castlevania to decide whether I'd want them to adapt this or if I'd want another studio to do it. First of all a 2d full berserk adaptation is better than … Continue reading Castlevania ep 3 – I think I’ve Made Up My Mind
I Really Enjoyed Wolf Children
Yesterday I watched wolf children and loved it a lot. It was a really nice watch. Now that I've finished this film it means I've seen every Mamorou Hosoda film that's not part of a different franchise (so everything except the two digimon films and one piece movie 6) and I have to say I … Continue reading I Really Enjoyed Wolf Children
What I Watched in December 2018 (Recommendations and Reviews for Anime and Manga)
I had a realisatoin after looking at my anime history this month -I've not watched any anime's in the last two weeks! So I might not have as much to talk about this time. That being said I did finish a lot of shows that I had been watching over the course of the year … Continue reading What I Watched in December 2018 (Recommendations and Reviews for Anime and Manga)
What I watched in November (Recommendations and Reviews for Anime and Manga)
This might be a big one since this is the month where the post "I watched 24 hours of anime" was came out. Yeah. Tonnes of episode ones that I'll never revisit. Mirai Mirai is the new Momorou Hosoda film and I watched it in cinema's on it's release date! Yeah that shows just how … Continue reading What I watched in November (Recommendations and Reviews for Anime and Manga)
What I watched in October (Recommendations and Reviews for anime and manga)
It's that time of the month again and it feels like it's gone way too quickly. The series that I'm watching lately are pretty huge. Monster is 74 episodes and Space brothers is 99. While I got close to finishing space brothers it still won't be done until next month and monster, you might have … Continue reading What I watched in October (Recommendations and Reviews for anime and manga)
Junji Ito – Ice Cream Bus
Junji Ito's story of the Ice Cream Bus is so good for how creepy it is. Ito often draws his horror from very basic and ordinary things, then extending them to the extreme or obsession to make them scary. The story follows a single parent father taking custody of his younger son and an ice … Continue reading Junji Ito – Ice Cream Bus
Junji Ito – Long Dream and The Story of The Mysterious Tunnel
Got 2 one shots for you this time! Long Dream This one shot by Junji Ito was just great. It was scary, had crazy art and was really entertaining and interesting as well as scary. The ideas about death were what made the story so fascinating to me it was crazy. We start fairly innocently … Continue reading Junji Ito – Long Dream and The Story of The Mysterious Tunnel
Monster Chapter 3 – A Murder
I regret to say that this will be the last episode review of monster that I will do in the lead up to Halloween. It's not that I don't love the show, quite the opposite in fact. It's just hard to motivate yourself to watch the show if you know you have to write a … Continue reading Monster Chapter 3 – A Murder
Monster Chapter 2 – Downfall
To correct a mistake from the previous review Monster calls episodes chapters meaning each episode is equal to a chapter. This means we're on the second chapter of the 74 episode story. Lots of exciting things are still yet to happen! Our episode continues taking place directly after the previous with Tenma operating on the … Continue reading Monster Chapter 2 – Downfall
Monster ep 1 – Dr Tenma
In the lead up to Halloween I thought it would be fun to cover a good horror anime episode by episode until October 31st much like I did last year with Shiki. Monster and Shiki are both fantastic horrors so I highly recommend that you watch them. With monster being 74 episodes long I don't … Continue reading Monster ep 1 – Dr Tenma
The Ancient Magus Bride Ep 1&2 Review
I thought it would be fun to talk about the shows I watch episode by episode weekly. My thoughts on the ancient magus bride are pretty controversial however I think my criticisms are valid enough that even fans of the show would understand where I'm coming from. The very obvious first thing is the visuals … Continue reading The Ancient Magus Bride Ep 1&2 Review
The Anime Database (All Entries)

What I Watched in August (Recommendations and Reviews for anime and manga)
Welcome back to yet another "what I watched", I'm going to recommend you some anime and manga that I read this month now! What I got wasn't that exactly … Continue reading What I Watched in August (Recommendations and Reviews for anime and manga)
What if People Thought You Were the Messiah? – Life Of Brian
Monty Python's Life of Brian is such a funny and hilarious film that follows Brian, a person who many people confuse with the messiah in the same time period of Jesus. The moment that the people thought he was a messiah was so funny that it caused me to laugh so loudly that everyone in … Continue reading What if People Thought You Were the Messiah? – Life Of Brian
The Last Jedi Ruined Everything, was good though
I recently got the chance to watch the last jedi for free so I took up that chance and watched it on a huge projector type screen, with many other people, in a field in the middle of nowhere. I went in sort of knowing I would enjoy it, because I had watched a lot … Continue reading The Last Jedi Ruined Everything, was good though
Liar Game Musical Chairs Arc Review
I've already talked about what the game of this arc is so if you've missed that or want a refresh of the rules you can find that here. In that post I talk more about how to make a really interesting game from a very basic concept and why it works so well, I don't … Continue reading Liar Game Musical Chairs Arc Review
Crunchyroulette Round 1 – PUNCHIM@S/Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi/Taboo Tatoo
Pressing random on CrunchyRoll can bring up some pretty funny results. So I thought that I might try writing a post about random titles that I found through pressing the random button! PUNCHIM@S I dropped this after one very short two minute episodes. Basically these two girls try and convince their older brother to buy … Continue reading Crunchyroulette Round 1 – PUNCHIM@S/Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi/Taboo Tatoo
Liar Game – Pandemic Game Arc Review (Round IV Qualifier Round)
That's right I' m back with reviewing Liar Game arcs! The contraband game was too confusing for me to comment on (though I really did enjoy it) and I didn't want to review the second revival game arc because it was too similar to the live action version which I had already reviewed. The sad … Continue reading Liar Game – Pandemic Game Arc Review (Round IV Qualifier Round)
What I Watched In July 2018 (Recommendations and Reviews for Anime and Manga)
I feel like I've not watched any anime at all this month, and that's basically true, the only anime I finished this month was Saiki season 2 (which I covered last month but hadn't seen the final three episodes) and that means that every single anime on this list is a movie! That's right all … Continue reading What I Watched In July 2018 (Recommendations and Reviews for Anime and Manga)
Berserk Is The Greatest Manga of All Time: Chapter 3
Yeah we're continuing with this series, where we go through all of the berserk chapters until the golden age arc starts, because I really like that early stuff as well! It's funny to me to have the start of a huge arc at the very end of volume one, where chapter 3 takes place. The … Continue reading Berserk Is The Greatest Manga of All Time: Chapter 3
Well I Was Wrong About Princess Mononoke!
16 months ago I put out a review in a "what I watched" post about Princess Mononoke saying it was boring and a waste of time. Now having watched it a few days ago I disagree with that because I really enjoyed the film! And with that it brings the number of Ghibli films I … Continue reading Well I Was Wrong About Princess Mononoke!
Pokémon Go Review – Nicknames are Everything (Part 2/16)
Welcome to the 2nd part of my thorough review of Pokémon Go where I discuss every aspect of the app to answer "should you play this game". Sorry for the long wait, I want to review this game before it completely dies in popularity so let's get right too it! Part one can be found … Continue reading Pokémon Go Review – Nicknames are Everything (Part 2/16)
Sora No Otoshimono/Heavens Lost Property Volume 1 Review
I watched all of Heavens Lost Property and thought that it was alright. Then I see a huge video series by Syy called a love letters to heavens lost property where he convincingly describes why this show is his favourite anime and I get his perspective. If you're thinking of watching the show then I … Continue reading Sora No Otoshimono/Heavens Lost Property Volume 1 Review
Doreiku ep 4 – The Appearance of Ryouu Sama!
Things are really beginning to take shape now that a new story line was added this episode. I thought this episode may be a much needed extra story so that we had more than two teams against each other. Ryouu was starting to have a monopoly and it would have been good to have multiple … Continue reading Doreiku ep 4 – The Appearance of Ryouu Sama!
Berserk Is The Greatest Manga of All Time: Chapter 2
Chapter 2 "The Brand" is the 2nd part of the three story arcs before going to the golden age arc and it's interesting that after this review we will already be 2/3 of the way through the stories. Chapter 1 "The Black Swordsman" is a huge chapter and is 90 pages long and chapter 2 … Continue reading Berserk Is The Greatest Manga of All Time: Chapter 2
Laytons Mystery Journey ep 1 – The Haunted House Case
There is no English name listed for this show on my anime list but the Japanese title (Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katri no Nazotoki File) roughly translates to "Layton Detective Agency - Katrielle's Mystery Files" but I don't like that so much so Laytons Mystery Journey it is! It sounds like the game too. In the … Continue reading Laytons Mystery Journey ep 1 – The Haunted House Case
Liar Game Manga – 24 Round Russian Roulette Review
Yeah we're back to doing this again! I've skipped the contraband game for now and we're on to this because we've not only got a review but comparisons to the live action version to make! I really love this arc in the manga because it takes something completely random and puts predictability to it in … Continue reading Liar Game Manga – 24 Round Russian Roulette Review
Berserk Is The Greatest Manga of All Time: Chapter 1
I love the Berserk manga a lot and I thought it would be really interesting to dissect everything in the chapter. In the past I did a thing like this for chapter 1 and 2 but would like to continue it for the chapters leading up to the flashback. I just think that there is … Continue reading Berserk Is The Greatest Manga of All Time: Chapter 1
Doreiku ep 3 – Super Smash Bros for Slavery
I'm getting a lot of smash vibes from this show even though this show is nothing like a fighting game. But it's because of the story of the subspace emissary. The subspace emissary was a story mode of smash brothers where all the characters would start in their own individual area, and then slowly meet … Continue reading Doreiku ep 3 – Super Smash Bros for Slavery
Dorei-Ku episode two – Scumbags
Some of the people in this show are just apologetically dick heads and I sort of find that interesting. It's scary to see what terrible people can do to others and how messed up some people can be. This episode was about a girl who loved a guy in a host club, The host was … Continue reading Dorei-Ku episode two – Scumbags
Liar Game S2 EP 4 – The Conclusion Of Everything!
So the finale of the arc is here at last and everything is coming to a close! So I can now conclude my opinions of liar game once and for all, but how was this episode? Stationary Russian roulette sounds stupid but it's way more interesting once it's explained. There is a roulette with 4 … Continue reading Liar Game S2 EP 4 – The Conclusion Of Everything!
Dorei-ku The Animation Ep 1 – The Most Terrifying Technology
I really loved this episode of the show, I think it's incredibly messed up and unethical which is what makes it interesting to me. This show is about a world on the cusp of a terrifying technology and I'm interested to see how this works in the "real" world with all the different people who … Continue reading Dorei-ku The Animation Ep 1 – The Most Terrifying Technology
Liar Game S2 EP 3 – The Conclusion of 17 Poker!
In the last episode review I made some predictions about how the game would take place and I was fairly happy with my predictions all things considered, and everything that I made that was wrong was oddly convenient and/or stupid. The first thing was, the deck is changed every time! If I knew this everything … Continue reading Liar Game S2 EP 3 – The Conclusion of 17 Poker!
Liar Game S2 Ep2 – The Start of 17 Poker!
At the end of the last episode they said that their was a twist which was a trap that fell into a game and I said that wouldn't really be possible. But that's because I didn't know that the LGT took the money when it came to a draw. Obviously if both players know what … Continue reading Liar Game S2 Ep2 – The Start of 17 Poker!
Liar Game Live Action S2 ep 1 – 1 Hour Long Pilot!
I thought that I might review the next arc in one whole post, but then episode one turned out to be one hour long! So I don't want to write what will probably be 2.5 hours of watch time into one post! This is the first episode I'm watching without reading the same thing in … Continue reading Liar Game Live Action S2 ep 1 – 1 Hour Long Pilot!
Liar Game Live Action eps 11-13
Hey instead of writing about episode 11 and 12 individually I sort of skipped them because they were both recap episodes! You really don't need two recap episodes in a 13 episode show, it was just overkill. They disguised the recap by introducing a new character who was told the events as they happened. It … Continue reading Liar Game Live Action eps 11-13
Liar Game Live Action ep 10 – Destroying Their Own Arc
This arc has been completely ruined by the show. I said it in the last episode and I'm saying it again, this arc sucks now. All of the betraying has been cut and everything's been changed to simplify it. So the first betrayal with Yokias clairvoyance worked out fine but then everything was made bad … Continue reading Liar Game Live Action ep 10 – Destroying Their Own Arc
Liar Game Live Action ep 9 – Start of the Contraband Game
I didn't think the producers could really mess this show up very much, because I think the strange charm of the story could work. But they messed it all up again! First of all they messed up the easiest thing which was the setting. Instead of giving us a normal airport like the one in … Continue reading Liar Game Live Action ep 9 – Start of the Contraband Game
Liar Game Live Action – Downsizing Game Arc Review
Here we are again to review another arc from Liar Game. ep 6 This was the first game of the downsizing arc so here are the rules. There are 9 players and only one of these people can lose. There are ten rounds and after every round people need to vote for who they want … Continue reading Liar Game Live Action – Downsizing Game Arc Review
Liar Game Live Action ep 2- Weird Changes
Let's continue with the second episode of this live action adaptation of Liar Game which is a manga you all should read. I had a lot to say with the first episode because I was just getting over the initial shock of the dramatic change in tone. This may be a little less content because … Continue reading Liar Game Live Action ep 2- Weird Changes
Liar Game Vol 3 – Revival Game and Sick Tricks
So I guess I'm doing this now. It's like an episode review but for manga except its longer than a chapter review. I feel like chapters are very short and difficult to comment upon because not a lot might have happened however a sizable amount of stuff can happen in a volume so I think … Continue reading Liar Game Vol 3 – Revival Game and Sick Tricks
Liar Game Vol 2 – Self Contained and Lately Explained
I like manga that is self contained to one volume. It feels really bad when you buy a volume and it just has the middle of an arc without the start and end point. It's an incomplete story and it doesn't fit together in a nice package. It's why I like having the first three … Continue reading Liar Game Vol 2 – Self Contained and Lately Explained
Liar Game Live Action ep 1 – The Manga Becomes Real!
The last live action Japanese TV show I saw was great teacher onizuka and it really didn't disappoint. So how did this version fare? Well it was ok, it never really reached the extreme highs of GTO live action but it's episode one and its early days yet. It seems like I'll be reviewing a … Continue reading Liar Game Live Action ep 1 – The Manga Becomes Real!
Liar Game Vol 1 – Schemes and Trickery
This will be the first in a series of posts where I talk about manga. The basis of the discussion will be around the works of Shinobu Kaitani who wrote liar game and One outs. I am enjoying reading the works of this guy and have found a few things to say about it! But … Continue reading Liar Game Vol 1 – Schemes and Trickery
DARLING in the FRANXX ep 2 – Let This Long Road To Madness End!
Yeah I'm dropping this show because it looks like not a lot is going to happen. This episode had a lot of wasted time and not a lot going on to make me want to continue. The good parts of the episode was the set up in the relationship between the main character and the … Continue reading DARLING in the FRANXX ep 2 – Let This Long Road To Madness End!
Comic Girls ep 1 – Tense Deadlines
I don't know why I expect every show from this season to really suck. Historically it's been fairly correct however theirs something about this season which is different. It's a place where you can throw all the tropes together into one and I apparently don't seem to care. While this episode may have had very … Continue reading Comic Girls ep 1 – Tense Deadlines
DARLING in the FRANXX ep 1 – Let This Long Road to Madness Begin
It was always a given that I was going to talk about Darling in the FranXX at some point so why not start now despite it not being finighed? At the current rate that I'm releasing episode reviews at the season will be over by the time I've finished it anyway! I probably won't make … Continue reading DARLING in the FRANXX ep 1 – Let This Long Road to Madness Begin
Pokémon GO Review – The Big Issue (part 1/16)
I’m not like other video game reviewers. If I’m going to review something I need to play it to its full over many days and weeks, learning and mastering all mechanics of the game before feeling capable to give it my opinion. But there have been so many updates and changes to the game that … Continue reading Pokémon GO Review – The Big Issue (part 1/16)
Golden Kamuy ep 1 – The Best CGI has to offer
Thanks again to magicconnan14 for recommending this show by not recommending it but saying that he would recommend it if he wasn't worried about what I would think. And with that mouthful of a sentence let's talk about the show. I'm glad I'm reviewing this show the day after I talked about a bad implementation … Continue reading Golden Kamuy ep 1 – The Best CGI has to offer
Hinamatsuri ep 1 – The life of a Yakuza fits with slice of life?
Thank you to magicconan14 for recommending this show! Starting with a completely out of context fight scene for no reason is never a good sign for me. My main complaint about it is how pointless it was. There was a character none of us knew and the rest of the episode took place three years … Continue reading Hinamatsuri ep 1 – The life of a Yakuza fits with slice of life?
Megalo Box ep 2 – Pro Punching
Hey we're back with the first episode two review of this anime season! I thought with at least trying to review an episode a day I would be able too cover this quicker but my brain had other plans! Due to scheduling two new episodes probably would have appeared between my ep 1 and 2 … Continue reading Megalo Box ep 2 – Pro Punching
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online Ep 1 – A Redemption for SAO?
After completely hating sword art online I thought it would be good to see if SAO had finally been fixed. Maybe an alternative version would help to bring quality back to a show that's got a following who would really appreciate an increase in quality. So was the alternative able to save SAO? Absolutely not. … Continue reading Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online Ep 1 – A Redemption for SAO?
Hisone To Maso-tan ep 1 – I Love Airplane Dragons!
I had expected the decision to start episode reviewing would lead to many rants about how terrible seasonal anime is, getting to the grips of everything I hate in these modern shows. But instead I've been pleasantly surprised, and today is no exception! This show looks like a kids show and from the advertising stupid. … Continue reading Hisone To Maso-tan ep 1 – I Love Airplane Dragons!
What I watched in April 2018 (Recommendations and Reviews for Anime and Manga)
Welcome to the NHK I watched this show while on a break from school and I felt a little bit like my life reflected it. Lupin III Part 5 Ep 1 – The Chase Is On!
Thanks again to Zainou for recommending this show for me. It's a great show and you can jump on straight away here without seeing the million other episodes of the show! Lupin The Third 2015 Ep 1 – A Thrilling Fight For The Crown!
The thanks for this post goes to Zainou who recommended I watch season 1 of the new Lupin season. Despite the fact that there are many, many episodes to this series it's all very episodic so he recommended I watch ep 1 of 2015 or three other films, one of which I couldn't find and the … Continue reading Lupin The Third 2015 Ep 1 – A Thrilling Fight For The Crown!
Legend of the Galactic Heroes Season 2 – Understated and Epic
Here is my post on season 1 where I stupidly pretended that I had seen the whole thing. I have not deliberately put the show on hold between that post and this one but it just took a while for reasons I will explain! Legend of the Galactic heroes (lotgh) does not feel like the … Continue reading Legend of the Galactic Heroes Season 2 – Understated and Epic
It’s Difficult to Love an Otaku ep 1 – It’s Difficult to Love This Show
It's no secret that I don't like seasonal anime, however it seems ridiculous to state that without justifying it in posts like these. And through doing this I might just prove myself wrong so there's that as well! First impressions are huge when I watch a show. Honestly being made by A-1 Pictures and having … Continue reading It’s Difficult to Love an Otaku ep 1 – It’s Difficult to Love This Show
What I watched/Read in March 2018 (Reviews and Recommendations for anime and manga)
It’s that time of the month again and I’m glad to say that I’ve found time to watch a little bit more this time, on paper at least, there are a lot of films here. I’m still busy scheduling everything and maybe it’s pretty bad that I’ve been watching these instead of reading everyone else … Continue reading What I watched/Read in March 2018 (Reviews and Recommendations for anime and manga)
‘A Silent Voice’ is An Excellent Film
I have found in the past that writing a long review talking about the film in chronological order is unhelpful to a lot of people because they can get insanely long and people don’t have the time or the patience to read it all, so now I’m switching my style to talk about specific things … Continue reading ‘A Silent Voice’ is An Excellent Film
Inuyashiki is a Must Watch!
One of my favourite anime’s from last year was Inuyashiki so this review has been a long time coming! At the start of this show Inuyashiki is in a … Continue reading Inuyashiki is a Must Watch!

Despite the fact that I’ve been reviewing evangelion every single day for this past month I’m still able to recommend / review a bunch of things that I watched this month! The best show is already NGE obviously and if you don’t know why you’re clearly new here! Anyway let’s get into the other shows … Continue reading What I watched in January 2018 (Reviews and Recommendations for anime and manga)
Neon Genesis Evangelion – Weaving a Story [14]
Something that makes my job a whole lot easier as an episode reviewer is the recap episode, to see everything that was shown in the recap just read all of the previous posts! I actually really dislike recap episodes and despite it being edited interestingly and uniquely it was still a recap episode and really … Continue reading Neon Genesis Evangelion – Weaving a Story [14]
Tsurezure Children Is A Great High School Rom-Com!
I really enjoyed this show from beginning to end. The anime features short skits from a range of couples in a school to present comedic love stories for (almost) every stage in a relationship, making the school feel more integrated and realised than many other shows I’ve seen. Adapting a series from a 4-koma manga … Continue reading Tsurezure Children Is A Great High School Rom-Com!
Shiki – The Final Hunt [22]
The Final Hunt 25/10/17 3:48 PM The sun sets on Sotoba village and I felt an immense worry for what would happen, since the vampires are now safer. This happens as soon as Seishin runs away so Sunako immediately gets up and starts looking around, which was sad in my opinion. I thought it would … Continue reading Shiki – The Final Hunt [22]
Shiki – Slaughter [21]
Twenty First Slaughter – 25/10/17 2:46 PM As far as I’m concerned this may as well have been the last episode since it seemed to tie up every loose end very nicely. The few points that were left hanging can easily be explained or is best left to interpretation in my opinion. So this will … Continue reading Shiki – Slaughter [21]

Twenteith Mourning – 25/10/17 1:14 PM At the start of the episode I found myself thinking that at the shows current pace the show would need to do a whole lot of murdering to resolve the plot. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. In fact the episode starts with a vampire’s eyes exploding due to exposure … Continue reading Shiki – Mourning [20]
Shiki – Coffin [19]
Nineteenth Coffin - 23/10/17 6:51 PM The episode opens where we left off at Chizuru’s death. Toshio uses this moment to rally the villagers and cause them to go on a hunt for the vampires. I see people rooting for the Shiki or calling the humans equaly bad but this is obviously incorrect. The vampires … Continue reading Shiki – Coffin [19]
Shiki – Night [18]
Eighteenth Night - 23/10/17 12:44 PM I think this episode was the best yet because everything I wanted to happen from the start took place here, and it was great. But I’m getting ahead of myself; the introduction was still interesting for its own reasons even if it didn’t have the pay off at the … Continue reading Shiki – Night [18]
Shiki – Killing Spirit [17]
Seventeenth Killing Spirit - 23/10/17 11:37 AM This episode didn’t reveal the plan I wanted to see, I sure do hope the plan involved Toshio getting bitten and becoming subservient to the vampires though, because it happened. At the start of the episode Toshio said the plan was to wait until it looked like the … Continue reading Shiki – Killing Spirit [17]
Shiki – Skull [16]
Sixteenth Skull - 23/10/17 10:04 AM This episode was great, not only because my pre-determined wants happened but because they happened in interesting ways which are promising for the future and side character involved heavily involved with the plot yet not given much attention. Sunako, the child vampire, was one of these people in particular … Continue reading Shiki – Skull [16]
Shiki – Deceit [15]
Fifteenth Deceit - 22/10/17 9:28 PM Tohru puts flowers out in front of Yuuki’s grave to mourn his death, this doesn’t compensate for his actions but is a sad touch to the show, even if the moment is wasted in a confusing way at the end of the episode. After Toshio murdering the Shiki Seishin … Continue reading Shiki – Deceit [15]
Shiki – Death [14]
Fourteenth Death – 22/10/17 8:31 PM Last episode really was a tragedy and this episode needed to accomplish a lot to fix it. I wanted more characters I knew in situations I could enjoy, a faster paced story with more advancement of the plot and just things that were actually interesting, that last one is … Continue reading Shiki – Death [14]
Shiki – Tragedy [13]
Thirteenth Tragedy – 22/10/17 7:32 PM This episode was the worst episode so far and probably the only episode of Shiki I would rate a score of 5 or less. Essentially everything which happened was something we either knew already or didn’t care about, and it’s because of the emotional value the show tried to … Continue reading Shiki – Tragedy [13]
Shiki – Decay [12]
Twelfth Decay – 21/10/17 9:37 PM I’m writing this the day after I watched the episode so if this is the worst one that explains it. I mentioned to my mum today that I was watching a show about vampires and she was very concerned about it having violence against women. Not against everyone, just … Continue reading Shiki – Decay [12]
Shiki – Slaughter [11]
Eleventh Slaughter - 21/10/17 8:30 PM Most episodes of Shiki are enjoyable to watch and just think about even if they only really focussed on one thing in particular. What made this episode so interesting was the fact that they seemingly introduced one character, explained what her purpose and ideas were, have the rest of … Continue reading Shiki – Slaughter [11]
Shiki – Mourning [10]
Tenth Mourning – 19/10/17 8:18 PM There was something about this episode which made the vampires feel a whole lot less villainous than they used to be and that’s done through showing us the story from their perspective, they’re really evil but I’ve ended up liking some of the vampires, which is something that I … Continue reading Shiki – Mourning [10]
Shiki – Coffin [9]
Ninth Coffin – 19/10/17 7:25 PM A huge issue which detracts from this show is its slow pacing and this puts many people off and makes them either drop or put it on hold. To be honest I’d much rather the show be faster paced but there’s a lot of good things the show has … Continue reading Shiki – Coffin [9]
Shiki – Night [8]
Eighth Night – 19/10/17 5:39 PM After the previous thrilling episode where everything started coming together to form a narrative more focussed on the threats instead of reactions to deaths I wanted this momentum to continue into the next episode and well, this sort of happened. Whilst the characters made progressions to come to the … Continue reading Shiki – Night [8]
Shiki – Killing Spirit [7]
Seventh Killing Spirit – 18/10/17 8:17 This show is getting a whole lot better and I really love the direction the series is headed. It’s not going to be scary but it’s going to be really interesting and entertaining anyway. Doing the three episode rule showed me that the series would be something I’d like … Continue reading Shiki – Killing Spirit [7]
Shiki – Skull [6]
Sixth Skull – 18/10/17 7:19 PM Wow I really loved this episode because everything I’ve been saying and re-iterating finally seems to be happening. Let’s talk about why this episode was really exciting to watch! We opened with a shot of Megumi retrieving her ripped post card from Yuuki and it’s sad because it seems … Continue reading Shiki – Skull [6]
Shiki – Deceit [5]
Fifth Deceit – 18/10/17 4:54 PM After scheduling the previous five posts earlier today I noticed that I’d made a few mistakes whilst watching the previous episodes. The first mistake was the conditions I was watching the show in, either broad daylight or with the lights on too much. It’s not as spooky this way, … Continue reading Shiki – Deceit [5]
Shiki – Fourth Death [4]
Fourth Death – 18/10/17 9:55 AM Before every episode I talk about what I want to happen in the episode. This time I actually wanted to be made to care about the bad guys and what they do, care more about the characters already introduced and most importantly I wanted the show to build up … Continue reading Shiki – Fourth Death [4]
Shiki – Third Tragedy [3]
Third Tragedy – 8:22 AM 18/10/17 I stayed very calm and normal throughout this episode, this show seems pretty calm really with all the deaths only being seemingly natural. Before watching I wanted to see new plot points occur which shed light on the mystery, the issue was from the previous episode was that the … Continue reading Shiki – Third Tragedy [3]
Shiki – Second Decay [2]
Second Decay – 17/10/17 9:03 PM Before watching I set up some guidelines I didn’t want to see in the video. I didn’t want them to pay attention to the previous death because it’s horror and we suspect that kind of thing, I also didn’t want to see a bunch of police on the scene … Continue reading Shiki – Second Decay [2]
Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea Is An Amazing Film
I watched Ponyo a while ago and I loved it! It was an enjoyable, fun ride of the movie with a backdrop of interesting themes I could appreciate. It’s a great film which is easy to watch and I recommend it to every anime fan and any movie fan who likes studio Ghibli. This is … Continue reading Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea Is An Amazing Film
Evil or Live, The Dustbin For Children Which Is Also A Dustbin
The rehabilitation facility of Evil or Live is completely stupid. Not that I hated the episode but so much social commentary about internet addiction was lost through making the main character correct in his analysis, the idea that the rehabilitation facility is hell. Believe it or not facilities to treat and cure internet addiction are … Continue reading Evil or Live, The Dustbin For Children Which Is Also A Dustbin
School Days – A Trip Through Hell
Before reading further I’ll say that you should watch School Days. The anime is a complete trip and it’s a journey that everyone will benefit from going on in the long run. Not to say that I like this show, I actually completely despise it, but don’t let that deter you! When people call this … Continue reading School Days – A Trip Through Hell
How To Mess Up A “Marriage Interview” demonstrated by Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyokina, Mondaiji Episode 1.
This episode was three minutes long! Why was it so short! An issue with using short episodes is that you don’t get the time to be involved in the world and you find that you really don’t care about the show at all. Whatever premise there might have been is just squandered because they don’t … Continue reading How To Mess Up A “Marriage Interview” demonstrated by Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyokina, Mondaiji Episode 1.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Is a Great Film
It’s rare for me to find a time travel film which tackles it’s time travel mechanic in such an interesting and personal way. Instead of a simple save the world plotline the show explored the less catastrophic, more fun side of time travel whilst still creating an interesting, high stakes story which is fun to … Continue reading The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Is a Great Film
Love Rice Episode 1 Review
Love Rice is an anime that explores the most tragic future that the world could face: a world without rice. Due to bad sales and harvests rice exportation and consumption has crashed and nobody cares about the food anymore and it’s fallen to our protagonist to become the ultimate harvstar, win the harvest competition (which … Continue reading Love Rice Episode 1 Review
Made In Abyss Episode 4 “The Edge Of The Abyss” Review
After the events of the previous episode Riko and Reg had just escaped from the orphanage and started going down. As well as this Reg was caught on the way by leader who let him go because he thought he was going to the toilet. After this escape plan the 3rd episode ended leaving me … Continue reading Made In Abyss Episode 4 “The Edge Of The Abyss” Review
The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor Episode 1
I’ve recently been enjoying watching low rated anime’s from this season so that I can enjoy ragging on them or just work out what people don’t like about it, and there’s plenty to dislike from this episode. In a successful three minute episode series the plot has to be easy to understand and should often … Continue reading The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor Episode 1
Nora, Princess, and Stray Cat episode 1 Review
Due to its extremely low MAL score (Bellow NTR) I expected this show to be offensively bad but it’s just not my thing. This show clearly isn’t meant to be taken seriously, it’s a comedy. Granted it’s not a very funny one but the premise is meant to sound funny and interesting. A princess turns … Continue reading Nora, Princess, and Stray Cat episode 1 Review
Netsuzou Trap -NTR- Episode 1 Review
I think its anime’s like this which make public consensus pretty terrible towards anime and anime fans. No-matter how many great shows with cool stories, characters, visuals and e.c.t there will always be some terrible ones dragging the rest down. I’ve heard rumours that the word “Trap” is literal in NTR and that the girls … Continue reading Netsuzou Trap -NTR- Episode 1 Review
Mahoujin Guru Guru (2017) Episode 1 Review
The episode opens with a video game with the main hero character. It has an old game aesthetic which then changes to a more normal anime view, telling us that everything we’re seeing is basically not really happening even though we can see it. This is a comedic, fantasy anime but I didn’t really like … Continue reading Mahoujin Guru Guru (2017) Episode 1 Review
Made In Abyss Episode 3 Review
We are thrown into the episode knowing that Riko wants to find her mother by going to the very bottom of the abyss. This leads to lots of conflict and emotion as going to the bottom is a one way trip and the characters of course don’t want to leave each other. At the same … Continue reading Made In Abyss Episode 3 Review
Made In Abyss Episode 2 Review!
A lot happens in this episode and it’s all interesting. We are shown orphanage life, Reg joins the school and Riko receives an interesting secret document which sets the story up for the future. I’ve just given a brief description about the episode but it in fact accomplishes so much more. The episode introduces us … Continue reading Made In Abyss Episode 2 Review!
Made In Abyss Episode 1 “The City Of The Great Pit” Review!
This less popular currently airing show has a brilliant best episode, probably the best opening this season has had so far. This is done through having fun characters, funny moments, and establishing the opening for what’s hopefully going to be a great series in a fun entertaining way without shoving the exposition down your throat. … Continue reading Made In Abyss Episode 1 “The City Of The Great Pit” Review!
Hunter X Hunter 2011 Dub Episode 1 Review!
Since I recently reviewed the first episode of the old Hunter X Hunter anime adaptation I thought it would be fun to review/ compare the episodes. Not only that, but I also learned that HxH was getting a dub that had been airing for about a year so I thought I’d watch the dub to … Continue reading Hunter X Hunter 2011 Dub Episode 1 Review!
Hajimete No Gal Episode 1 Review
Within the first two seconds we witness the birth of the first ever floating heart in all of its shiny, beautiful, misery. Sometimes I wonder what the point of fan service is if you hide it in post. If the show you’re making is intended for the consumption of a general audience then I don’t … Continue reading Hajimete No Gal Episode 1 Review
Tsurezure Children Episode 1 Review
Tsurezure children is about depicting different scenarios about love and how different people react and deal with it. The high school setting and lack of main character allow us to view a snapshot into each characters love life to hopefully find it funny or interesting. This also means that if we find one particular character … Continue reading Tsurezure Children Episode 1 Review
The Other 70% of Koi To Uso Episode 1 Review!
Now that I’ve actually seen the episode in its intended format I can now say that the episode was both good and interesting. Watching also told me that I was wrong for most of my interpretations of the RAW version were correct yet some completely wrong. For example, I completely missed the strange marriage system … Continue reading The Other 70% of Koi To Uso Episode 1 Review!
AHO-GIRL Episode 1
I had this epic episode review planned out, it was going to be great, but I just thought to myself, let’s read the comments! So I did and nobody really seemed to like it even though I did and then I went to MAL to see the more general opinion (5 for awful and 7 … Continue reading AHO-GIRL Episode 1
Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san Episode 1
To the shows credit episode one was pretty funny, in a very easy to understand and accessible way. The two main characters each exhibit animalistic behaviours of either a dog or a cat and the comedy used with this gimmick is pretty cool. You’ve also got another girl who’s just normal to act as the … Continue reading Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san Episode 1
Danchigai Episode 1 Review
Danchigai is the tale of four sisters and one brother who live together whilst they’re parents are away. I thought this might lead to terrible fan-service scenarios but I was surprised when this didn’t happen and the show decided to focus on their relationship as family. It’s a shame that the episodes are 3 minutes … Continue reading Danchigai Episode 1 Review
Miss Monochrome the animation Episode 1 Review
I genuinely wanted to watch this anime, it’s not like I’m only going to do short episode anime from now on just so that I can keep that 2 reviews a day promise! Skirt No Naka wa Kedamono Deshita Episode 1 Review
I have to say that I’m very surprised at the direction that this anime went in. I’m going to spoil the huge plot twist (Also this post is 18+ due to language so don’t say I didn’t warn you) so watch the episode if you don’t want to be spoiled. At the start I saw … Continue reading Skirt No Naka wa Kedamono Deshita Episode 1 Review
Koi To Uso, 30% of Episode 1 Review!
Sometimes I just enjoy doing something stupid. Since I’ve started doing this whole episode review month I’ve made stupid, terrible, meaningful and satirical posts but this is something new. Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun Episode 1 Review
I don’t really know what the popular opinion of this show is but I’m going to be honest and say that I really didn’t like it. This doesn’t mean it was terrible; it did keep me occupied for twenty minutes which is more than I can say for other shows that I thought I’d episode … Continue reading Cleanliness Boy! Kakegurui Episode 1 Review
Since the new anime season starts in July I thought I’d start reviewing some episodes as it seems to be the done thing around here. Since I know this will come out late compared to everyone else’s episode review I’ll put extra effort in to make sure it’s good, and hopefully better. My enthusiasm for … Continue reading Kakegurui Episode 1 Review
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Episode 1 Review
After dropping Higurashi a long time ago I decided to check out this episode again to see if it was any good. My main problem with the series in the past was not really finding the mystery interesting (It’s just some dumb curse, right?), not really seeing the point and not really knowing what the … Continue reading Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Episode 1 Review
GTO Episode 3 Review!
As always there was a lot going on in this episode and it was yet again very dodgy but still entertaining. One thing that I’ve noticed about this anime is that although its visuals are realistic its plot isn’t. A school girl pretty much gets kidnapped every episode and I don’t really like that trope … Continue reading GTO Episode 3 Review!
GTO Episode 2 Review!
On this day of JEARETTAS we’re going to cover the first three episodes of the new GTO anime and never talk to them again. Even though the old and new anime’s are stylistically different their plots are very similar. The new version dedicates 45 minute episodes too their stories whilst the other takes 25. This … Continue reading GTO Episode 2 Review!
GTO Episode 1 Review!
Like many people I loved the great teacher Onizuka anime back from 1999. So when I saw that this anime had another more recent adaptation, I leapt at the opportunity to give it a watch and I was very impressed. As with any anime, any adaptation done with different staff will be extremely different and … Continue reading GTO Episode 1 Review!
Hunter X Hunter episode 1 review
The original Hunter X Hunter series is actually quite different from the newer version in ways that I’d not really thought about, or couldn’t have thought about if I hadn’t watched episode one. The world comes across as a lot darker to me in comparison to the bright hope in the 2011 series. This was … Continue reading Hunter X Hunter episode 1 review
Magical Warfare episode 1 Review
Before watching this anime I knew that I wouldn’t like it. It’s a terrible mind to be in whilst watching a show but I don’t think it was misguided. Just from the Crunchyroll poster I could see that it was action, high school, magic and most likely fan service as well – things that I … Continue reading Magical Warfare episode 1 Review
The severing crime edge episode 1
The severing crime edge is an anime that I watched because a reader said its first episode was amazing. Whilst I don’t think it was amazing it was pretty good. Barakamon episode 1 review
I’m one of the few who ended up watching this show after watching its prequel, I understood that it wasn’t liked by the majority of Barakamon fans and I can now see why. I really enjoyed Handa-kun for its insane situations and crazy main character but I can see how everything’s changed. Handa is no … Continue reading Barakamon episode 1 review
Chronexia And The Eight Seals Episode Review!
About 8 months ago popular anime YouTuber by the name of Misty Chronexia released the pilot episode of his anime and it didn’t really go down well and wasn’t as big a success as he had hoped, and it’s very clear why from this first and only episode. The first few minutes are a terrible … Continue reading Chronexia And The Eight Seals Episode Review!
Yona of the dawn episode 12 Review
After watching 5 episodes of Yona I’ve decided to come back to review episode 12, because a reader told me it was good. So this means I’ve gone into it skipping basically everything meaning that this episode review will most likely be inaccurate. However if it gains such praise then there should be something I … Continue reading Yona of the dawn episode 12 Review
Super Sonico the animation Episode 6 Review
Considering that this specific episode was recommended to me I expected it to be a whole lot more weird than it actually was. Thanks to anime I can’t properly react to hearing weird things about anime and I … Continue reading Super Sonico the animation Episode 6 Review
Super Sonico the animation episode 1
When I got the reader suggestion to review ep 1 and ep 6 of this anime I was pretty concerned and for fairly valid reasons, from hearing minor things from people I was under the impression that super sonico was hentai. But I guess I was wrong and I’m here to review the episode. The … Continue reading Super Sonico the animation episode 1
Elfen Lied Episode 3 Review
The episode starts with a childish misunderstanding that’s pretty stupid. Apparently the female lead character expects the main character to remember the dumb promise they made when they were kids. Sure it’s a promise but it’s annoying to see it touched upon when the character really shouldn’t remember it either. So she therefore leaves the … Continue reading Elfen Lied Episode 3 Review
Elfen Lied Episode 2 Review
The episode is mostly filled with a tense scene where Nyu is hunted down. It’s not particularly brilliant but it’s interspersed in between scenes of the other characters, making it interesting. The main character then gets injured and ends up in hospital. When he gets back he finds that Nyu is back at home in … Continue reading Elfen Lied Episode 2 Review
Elfen Lied episode 1 review
I never thought that Elfen Lied could be that good but after this episode I’m not so sure, it could turn out great or fail miserably based off of my response to the first three episodes that I’ve watched so far. It’s entertaining but I don’t really think the show has much quality. We start … Continue reading Elfen Lied episode 1 review
KINMOZA! Episode 1 Review
This anime was the first series that I’ve watched specifically to write about it and specifically because a reader asked me too. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien Episode 1 Review
Even with all of its romance and perceived seriousness I really didn’t like this episode. It felt too simple and I found that I couldn’t really care about the characters. Chuunibyou Episode 2 Review
I wasn’t really entirely sure what to think about this episode. Firstly it introduced the student council president, whom I don’t really like that much, and then set up a problem of a missing cat. A missing cat! It’s basically the most boring thing you could choose to focus an episode on. That being said … Continue reading Chuunibyou Episode 2 Review

Chunibyo episode one is about a guy who has an embarrassing past, trying to be normal yet being prevented by a girl who is still into all the crazy stuff that he was into. Yugioh Episode 3 Review
This episode was highly entertaining for me to watch and felt fun and cool yet also ominous. This was done through the dark sky and mean nature of the guards juxtaposed with the fairly simple and comedic story that the characters follow. Joey wishes to join yugi so that he can win money to pay … Continue reading Yugioh Episode 3 Review

This is the last series that I watched because I thought it might be like Golden Boy, it wasn’t. This is three episodes of constant fan service, but the episodes … Continue reading Hantsu X Trash eps 1-3 Review(/s) (full series)
